Screening Rights and Educational Use

In order to screen Vaxxed (or any film) to the public, a public performance license is required. For those of you interested in sharing the film with an audience (currently just in the US & Canada), we first suggest arranging a GATHR event as the out-of-pocket costs are nominal and much of the event work is done for you.

However, if you’d prefer to set up a different type of screening event, one that allows you to arrange for panel discussions or to screen as part of a conference (including internationally), a film festival, educational curriculum or even in a medical office, we’ve structured some easy-to-order programs that address for profit and non-profit events as well as admission free and admission based events.

We’ve diligently constructed these programs to best address the various ways that people may wish to show the film. Because there is a sizable expense required to produce and distribute a film, as well as to administer these programs, there are screening fees applied to help allay these costs.

The Federal Copyright Act (Title 17 of the U.S. Code) states that neither the rental nor the purchase of a movie carries with it the right to show the movie publicly outside the home, unless the site where the movie is used is properly licensed for public exhibition. Ownership of the movie and the right to screen it (or stream it) publicly are two separate issues. The copyright holder retains exclusive public performance rights regardless of: how the movies are obtained (rented, purchased in a store or purchased online in digital format); Whether or not an admission fee is charged; and whether the facility or organization is commercial or non-profit. We sincerely appreciate those of you who want to respect the law and support this film. These fees will also help the filmmakers on their campaign to bring awareness to these issues.

Please note, refunds will not be possible so please be 100% certain that your event is happening and that you have the correct license.

Community Screenings

A community screening is a private or public screening event to show the film to a group of people. Screenings with free admission and those requiring an admission fee (non-profits included) each require a license. This screening can occur in any type of venue that will support it, except for film festivals, conventions, and conferences (find licenses for these types of events below). Some examples of venues that would use the community screening license are theatre rentals, community centers, churches, libraries, universities, museums, etc.

The film itself will be delivered in a DVD format, unless the event involves less than 50 people. In this case, a digital stream will be provided that can be played on your computer, iPhone, iPad, Android, Apple TV, Roku, and Chromecast. Learn more about how to stream here.

Non-profits and charitable organizations may ask for donations at free screenings as long as the donation is not considered admission.

Each community screening license will include an additional official Vaxxed DVD (with over an hour of  bonus features, does not ship until September 9th) for the purchaser to keep.

If you are a film buyer or theatre owner then please contact to book a one-off.
